Volunteer

Like most amateur sports clubs, Linlithgow Rugby Club runs on the support, goodwill and enthusiasm of our volunteers.

Our volunteers are involved in the age group coaching, running the cafe on matchdays and supporting the smooth running of the club.

We are always looking for people who would like to put something back into the club and the sport they love. If you are able to volunteer please contact your age group coaches or Grant Haggart.

Information on Coaching

Coaching is very rewarding and our Club, like most others in Scotland, relies on volunteers to coach youngsters from P1 to u18. We are always looking out for more coaches to help and also for potential referees.

Grant Haggart, our Club Development Officer, will help you get started and will support coach development across all age groups. His contact details are at the foot of this note.

As a coach we ask you to work within the values of rugby in general and our Club in particular.

In addition, Scottish Rugby has three main requirements for all coaches:

PVG clearance – you can help as an assistant to the coach before full clearance, but you must get PVG clearance before leading a coaching session or taking one on your own.

RugbyRight – all coaches must complete this learning module annually by 31 October. The module is updated each year. It can only be accessed through the Scottish Rugby admin site SCRUMS.

Coaching Essentials – this is the minimum standard for anyone coaching P4 and above, but it’s also a great introduction to coaching for Micros coaches.
