P7s big day out at North Berwick

Despite a long journey around the Edinburgh Bypass, the Linlithgow Minis P7 squad arrived at the North Berwick Festival ready for a big day of rugby!

The festival featured some of the strongest teams in Scotland, providing an excellent test for the boys. The squad showed great enthusiasm and determination from the first whistle, supported throughout the day by a fantastic group of parents, grandparents, siblings and dogs who helped create a brilliant team atmosphere.

The rugby on display was excellent. Linlithgow opened with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Musselburgh before facing a strong North Berwick A side and narrowly losing 3-0. The boys responded in superb fashion, producing one of the performances of the day with an impressive 9-0 victory over North Berwick B, before rounding off the festival with a convincing 4-1 win against George Watson’s. Competing against such high-quality opposition, the squad can be extremely proud of finishing 6th out of 12 teams, a reward for their hard work, teamwork and positive attitude throughout the tournament. While there are always a few things to work on at training this week, that is part of the journey and shows there is still room for improvement.

Once the rugby was finished, the boys enjoyed a well-earned cool down with a swim in the sea at North Berwick beach, joined by a few brave family members who were willing to take the plunge! The day was rounded off perfectly with fish and chips and ice creams, before everyone headed home tired, happy and proud after another memorable day representing Linlithgow Minis.
