Vocal P6 supporters’ club cheer on 2 wins at Stew Mel!

Report by Gordon White

After a few weeks without a game, the Wee Reds were excited to leave the heavy rain behind them in Linlithgow, and head to Ferry Road to play some of the biggest teams in Scotland in a round robin format.

Despite a full warm up, the Wee Reds P6s were a bit slow to wake up in the first game against a strong GHA, with a few missed tackles, dropped balls and unclaimed kick offs.

After a stern talking to by the coaching team, the boys then put in 3 brilliant performances beating Edinburgh Accies Ones and the Stew Mel Lions, and narrowing losing to Edinburgh Accies Twos. The large travelling support had lots to cheer with some great team and individual tries, including scores by Brodie, Gregor, Kian, Angus and Harry. However, it was really the defensive effort from the team that helped them do so well in these games, with some brilliant 1 on 1 tackles from Archie, Julen, Patrick, Rory and Keelan. The boys continue to enjoy the new P6 rules, especially the ability to kick out of hand. Luca, Olly and Findlay always stepping forward as our kick off specialists!

It was great to see the boys celebrating each victory together on the final whistles, lead by Kian’s fist pumps and strong cheers from the side lines.

Linlithgow 2 – GHA 5

Linlithgow 5 – Edinburgh Accies Ones 3

Linlithgow 4 – Stew Mel Lions 2

Linlithgow 3 – Edinburgh Accies Twos 4

Thanks to Stew Mel for organising a great afternoon of rugby.
