P6s storming performance at Dunfermline!

Sunday 05 October 2025

Report by Gordon White

After getting through Storm Amy earlier in the weekend, the Wee Reds P6s took 2 teams over the Forth to Fife for a match against the Dunfermline’s Blues. Being a couple of weeks since their last match, this was a great opportunity for the young Reds to show off all their individual and team skills, that they have been working so hard on during training.

On a lovely wide grassy pitch, 4 matches were played in total with Linlithgow coming away with 3 victories and 1 narrow defeat:

Match 1 : Won 7 – 2

Match 2 : Lost 5 -4

Match 3 : Won 5 – 2

Match 4 Won 6 -2

Despite the impressive results, the coaching team had to work hard between matches to keep all the squad focused and working as a team both in attack and defence.

One of the many highlights from the day, came in the final game. With Dunfermline looking certain to score,  the Wee Reds managed to hold their line and make tackle after tackle. After a perfect counter ruck from Angus, the ball was quickly moved through the hands to Dexter on the wing. He set off, running the length of the pitch and was tackled just short of the try line. Thankfully Finlay and Rory had both run brilliant supporting lines, with Rory getting the touchdown, to a massive cheer from the traveling support on the pitch side.

All the focus now moves to our own autumn tournament this Sunday, with a feast of tries, tackles and home baking expected!
