Wee Reds P4s make their debut!
Report by Paul Millar
On Sunday, our Linlithgow P4s made the trip to the North Berwick Minis Festival and what a day it was! This was their very first time playing contact rugby, and every single one of them stepped up with huge effort and big smiles.
The team came away with 1 win, 2 hard-fought draws and 1 narrow loss – but the results tell only part of the story. The kids ran their socks off, put in some crunching tackles, scored some brilliant tries, and most importantly, showed great spirit in every game.

It was clear to see the progress from just 4 weeks of training, with parents on the touchline treated to plenty of exciting rugby and no shortage of determination. After all the effort, the players were rewarded with some well-deserved sweeties from the coaches – a sweet ending to a great day!
The coaches couldn’t be prouder of how the squad played outside their comfort zones and embraced the challenge. A huge thanks goes to the parents for their support and encouragement, and of course to the players for their energy and commitment.
The whole coaching team is loving seeing this group develop – and Sunday was another big step forward. Well done Linlithgow P4s! 👏🏉

P6’s day out at the seaside
Report by Gordon White
For the first tournament of the new season, the P6s went East, for the North Berwick 10 team event.

Wee Reds P6s with Scotland star Rory Darge – a former NB youth player
The tournament offered the Young Reds not only a chance to showcase their developing skills against some of the strongest teams from across Scotland, but also a chance to adapt to the new law variations recently introduced to them at this level.
As always, the team rose to the challenge, demonstrating brilliant team work while winning 4 of their 5 group matches to an aggregate score of 23 tries to 3. These victories included impressive wins against Edinburgh Accies and the Berwick Bulldogs. The energy and enthusiasm of the squad were clear in every match, and their efforts paid off with some thrilling tries and solid defensive performances. The tournament was not only a success in terms of results but also a valuable step forward in the team’s development.

The narrow defeat to the North Berwick Blues meant the rugby finished for the day with a close-run match against Musselburgh in the 3rd place playoff.
Next stop the beach! The rugby kit was quickly dumped on the sand for the parents and grandparents to regather, while all the players and one of the coaches (!) did their cool down in the North Sea! The team’s other coach, media director and chief photographer were less keen to join them. The squad had a great time wave jumping and swimming.
Prior to taking on the Edinburgh bypass again, our day at the seaside obviously had to be completed with fish and chips in the rain!
Overall, a great day of rugby and team bonding,
Thanks to North Berwick for putting on such a great, well organised tournament!
