Strong pro-rugby debut for Lewis Wells

Sunday 19 January 2025

Former Red and Young Red Lewis Wells made his debut for Edinburgh Rugby on Sunday, playing all 80 minutes of their European Challenge Cup win over Black Lion of Georgia. Wearing the number 11 shirt, Lewis put in an excellent debut performance, making good yards in attack and defending strongly both in the tackle and in the air.

Congratulations to Lewis Wells who makes his competitive pro-rugby debut on Sunday for Edinburgh in their European Challenge Cup match against Black Lion of Georgia (KO 1pm at the Hive).

Lewis was unlucky to have been injured in training for Emerging Scotland, missing their fixture against Italy U23, but has bounced back to seize this opportunity with Edinburgh.

Lewis had previously come on as a substitute for Edinburgh in a pre-season friendly against Gloucester, initially squaring up against Christian Wade, but not only is this his first start but it will be his competitive debut.
