The precursor to the RedsFest 7s tournament was a round-robin set of fixtures for Walking Rugby teams from Linlithgow (Vintage Reds), Forth Valley Fossils and Murrayfield Wanderers. Although not competitive in theory – try telling that to some of the players – the Vintage Reds were unbeaten in their 4 matches, with 3 wins and a draw! As organiser and player David Mitchell said, the players “thrilled the swelling crowd with a display of rugby that was at times breathtaking (literally for the players).” 

A big shout-out to the volunteer referees Nick Drainey and Gregor McLean for putting up with the backchat of players who should know better.
