Great first home, conference win for U18s

Linlithgow U18 50 – 17 Musselburgh

The U18’s played their first league game at home on the 1XV pitch against Musselburgh on Saturday.

The Linlithgow boys started well scoring 3 trys in the first 25 minutes through Caiden, Jack and Reece with Fraser slotting two kicks. 19-0.

Unfortunately one of the Musselburgh boys retired with an injured knee. They arrived with 14 so discussions followed as they were now down to 13, so they gave us the win and we gave them two players, so the game continued 15 on 15.

This definitely helped them as Musselburgh scored right on half time making a 19 – 5 score.

Linlithgow started very quickly in the second half with No.8 Jack taking his second try after 30 seconds and then Fraser crossing the white wash after 3 minutes. We were pressing on their line again after 13 minutes when Musselburgh took an interception pass and our own Alex ran in the Musselburgh try!

Linlithgow pulled themselves together again and scored another 3 trys through our vice captains Oogie and Cammy with Alfie scoring our final try making our total 50 points with Fraser adding two of the conversions and Alfie kicking over his own try.

The final word came from Musselburgh though, scoring on full time making the final result 50 – 17.

Great first home, conference win. Well done everyone especially our volunteers in the kitchen!
